Filipino-American painter, Marianne Angeli Rodriguez is a self-taught artist based in Covington, Louisiana. She credits her nomadic childhood as the main influence of her work - she spent 15 years living abroad in Burkina Faso, Senegal, Guatemala, England & the Philippines before landing in the U.S. Rodriguez went on to study in New York and has a background in anthropology and apparel design. Ritual, language, textiles and ancient history fuel her curiosity, and the nostalgia of a tropical climate from her home country is a constant undercurrent in her work. She owns and operates her studio gallery in historic downtown Covington.
